“And in the spirit [an angel] carried me away to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. It has the glory of God and a radiance like a very rare jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal.” (Revelation 21:10-11 NRSV)
My spiritual perceptive faculties, which ever dwell in the presence of Spirit carry me within the moving force in the universe up to an exalted state of mind where the divine plan is perceived.
The consciousness of spiritual peace descends from a state of consciousness in which the soul and the body are in harmony with the indwelling life, intelligence, love, and power which is vividly bright and shining.
This wisdom and love sustains and supports me, and all of humankind, during times of stress and brings tranquillity and a feeling of wholeness. It is pure Love.
Literally an angel is taking me up on a mountain and showing me Jerusalem coming down from heaven in the glory of Spirit radiating light like a jewel, like jasper. Jasper was used for ceremonial purposes in Egypt and possibly in Canaan to. It had great value and spiritual properties. Angels were messengers or the active arm of Spirit.
What does the story evoke in me?
It is a story of wonder so miraculous that it could only be a dream or a symbolic story, a metaphor. The author has more to say than he is willing or able to put in language.
Even as we live in a world of turmoil and suffering. The times are improving. Jerusalem, which is our consciousness of spiritual peace, is being realized on earth and in the highest parts of our mind. As more and more people begin to go to that higher consciousness, symbolized by go up on the high mountain, the abiding consciousness of spiritual peace moves into each person and into collective consciousness.
That we can affect the collective consciousness and raise it to that high mountain is the whole reason why I dedicated my life to learning and sharing Truth. The more of us who can shine this light into the world the saltier the soup of the collective unconscious becomes. It is not only our personal hope of glory, but it is the only hope for this world.
This process is my life. I work and live and breathe to bring the good news that we have freewill to choose to put our attention on Truth instead of the trouble; and that our thoughts do affect the world; and there is no greater power than love. Love is the connecting force that binds us as one. There is only one power, LOVE.
